Hello friends, and welcome to the new and (hopefully!) improved website of College View Baptist Church! I know it looks very much like the old site, and even more like the temporary site we’ve had for the last few weeks.  But take it from me, it’s completely different! One of my duties here as Associate Pastor is taking care of our media, including this site. We started having some problems with the site several months ago, and things only got worse until it finally became clear that the site would have to be totally scrapped and started anew.

That may be how you are feeling personally as we enter into this brand new year of 2018. We often take January as a time to make improvements to our lives. It is not uncommon at the start of a new year to try to get healthier, stronger, more organized, or caught up on that backlog of tasks (like website building!). But sometimes, that’s just not enough. Sometimes the pressures of life, along with the consequences of our own wrong choices leave us wishing there were a reset button on life. The good news of the Gospel is that through Jesus Christ, there is indeed a ‘reset’. In II Corinthians 5:17 we learn, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (ESV).

I’d like to encourage you during this time of New Year’s resolutions and new beginnings, as you get to all the things you’ve been putting off until a better time, to take the time to consider if you are ‘in Christ’. Through Him we are given a new nature and a new relationship with God the Father. Do you know Him? Do you trust Him? If not, I’d love to have the opportunity to share Him with you.
